Scott G. Golinkin concentrates his practice on commercial litigation, professional liability coverage and associated litigation, and alternative dispute resolution services. He is a member of the trial bar of the Northern District of Illinois.

Mr. Golinkin began his legal career with the global law firm of Mayer Brown where, for nearly a decade, he represented clients in a broad range of litigated matters including contract, fraud, ERISA, securities fraud, RICO and professional malpractice. Immediately prior to joining Reardon Golinkin & Reed, he was employed by the firm of Sedgwick, Detert, Moran & Arnold, where he applied his considerable litigation experience to insurance coverage matters, a practice he has since expanded at Reardon Golinkin & Reed.

Mr. Golinkin is a published author and speaker on various insurance and litigation topics, including strategies for dealing with D&O claims in bankruptcy settings, issues in miscellaneous E&O coverages, reducing damages in employment cases and others. Most recently, he spoke at the Mealey’s Subprime Mortgage Litigation Conference, where he discussed strategies for settling complex litigation (October 2007). Recent articles authored by Mr. Golinkin include “Raising the Bar: How the Supreme Court’s Recent Decisions Are Good for Corporations And Their Insurers,” published in the July 23, 2007 issue of Andrews Corporate Director & Officer Liability Litigation Reporter, and “The Resolution of the Conseco Securities and Coverage Litigation – What Really Happened, How it Happened and What it Means Going Forward,” published in the November 2005 PLUS Journal. Mr. Golinkin is a member of the Professional Liability Underwriting Society.

Active in the community, Mr. Golinkin serves on the DePaul University School of Music Advisory Board and is a charter member of the Ezra Consortium, which supports the American Jewish Archives in Cincinnati. He also is a co-founder and two-term past president of the Friends of Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI), an organization which encourages pro bono participation by law firms and young attorneys, and has received PILI’s Distinguished Alumni Award. Mr. Golinkin also serves as a judge for law school moot court, client counseling and negotiation competitions.

Mr. Golinkin is admitted to practice in Illinois and in federal courts in the Northern District of Illinois (including the trial bar), Arizona, Indiana, and Wisconsin, as well as the Seventh U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Golinkin received his J.D., cum laude, in 1984 from the DePaul University College of Law, where he was an editor of the DePaul Law Review. He is a graduate of Northwestern University, receiving his B.M.E. in music in 1974 and his M.M. in music in 1975.
